For Climate Action Day this year (6th November), Newbury Friends of The Earth have looked at how we can support similar projects to our own worldwide. We have decided to sponsor Tree Aid, an incredible charity that works with people in the drylands of Africa to tackle poverty and the effects of the climate crisis by growing trees, improving people’s incomes, and restoring and protecting land. Led by local people, projects make sure trees thrive so they can provide food and incomes today and protect the environment for tomorrow.
We have had posters up at our planting events this weekend with QR codes to allow donations and it would be great if you could check out their projects, when convenient. Great to see interdisciplinary projects like this that work for the environment but more importantly those people living within it too.
